Sega has officially announced that The House of the Dead 2 Remake will be released on August 7, 2025, for Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S versions scheduled for a later launch. This remake brings the classic 1998 arcade rail shooter back with updated graphics and gameplay enhancements.

According to Sega’s official statement, the remake aims to preserve the original’s fast-paced zombie shooting action while modernizing visuals and controls for current-generation hardware. The game will support both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, maintaining the core experience that fans remember.

The initial release on Switch and PC reflects Sega’s strategy to reach a broad audience, with console players on PlayStation and Xbox receiving the game shortly afterward. The announcement was accompanied by a gameplay trailer showcasing revamped environments, improved enemy models, and smooth shooting mechanics.
