Nintendo Switch Price Adjustments Announced for Canada
On June 2024, Nintendo officially announced pricing updates for the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions in Canada. The changes come amid ongoing inflationary pressures and market adjustments.
According to Nintendo’s official statement, the price of the original Nintendo Switch console will increase starting this month, while the Nintendo Switch OLED model and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will maintain their current pricing. Additionally, subscription fees for Nintendo Switch Online services will also see a moderate rise.
Nintendo cited rising production and distribution costs as the primary reasons for the price adjustments. The company emphasized its commitment to delivering value to Canadian consumers despite these necessary changes.
Retailers across Canada have begun updating their listings to reflect the new prices, with pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 scheduled to open on April 24, 2024.
