Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo, recently revealed during a shareholders meeting that the demand for the Nintendo Switch 2 far surpasses the current supply. The console is experiencing severe shortages, with some shareholders themselves unable to purchase the device.
Since April, Nintendo has been conducting lottery-based sales through the My Nintendo Store, attracting over 2.2 million participants, which greatly exceeded the company’s expectations.
Furukawa emphasized that Nintendo is working hard to increase production capacity. The availability of the Switch 2 in most retail stores has gradually improved. Additionally, the company plans to launch the fifth round of lottery sales in July.
For those still unable to acquire the Switch 2, Furukawa expressed sincere apologies on behalf of the company and promised to meet market demand as quickly as possible.
