Nintendo Switch 2 Expands GameCube Classics with Super Mario Strikers on July 3

Nintendo has officially announced that Super Mario Strikers, the hard-hitting soccer action game originally released for the Nintendo GameCube, will be added to the Nintendo Classics library on Nintendo Switch 2 starting July 3, 2025. This addition expands the GameCube lineup available to Switch 2 users through the Nintendo Switch Online service.

According to Nintendo’s official statement, Super Mario Strikers brings its unique blend of fast-paced, aggressive soccer gameplay to the modern platform, allowing both new and returning players to experience the classic multiplayer sports action. The game supports local and online multiplayer modes, leveraging the Switch 2’s enhanced connectivity features.

This release is part of Nintendo’s ongoing effort to enrich the Nintendo Classics collection, providing access to beloved titles from past consoles. The inclusion of Super Mario Strikers follows previous GameCube classics added to the service, further broadening the retro gaming options for Switch 2 subscribers.

The game will be available for download via the Nintendo Switch Online app on July 3, 2025.
