The next major update for Cyberpunk 2077, version 2.3, originally scheduled for release on June 26, has been postponed indefinitely as the development team requires more time to ensure they are fully satisfied with the update.
CD Projekt Red has not provided a new release date but hinted that the scale of the 2.3 update is expected to be similar to the 2.2 update, which significantly expanded customization options when it launched late last year.
In a brief statement on social media, CD Projekt Red said: “We initially hoped to deliver the 2.3 update on June 26, but we need more time to ensure we are satisfied — our goal is to reach a scale similar to the 2.2 update. We will update you on our progress as soon as possible! Thank you for your patience!”
Global Community Director Marcin Momot added: “It turns out we really do need more time this time. Sorry for the wait, and thank you for your patience!”
The 2.2 update did not add new gameplay modes or support for PlayStation 5 Pro but allowed players to customize more vehicle colors in greater detail and improved the vehicle customization UI. It also enhanced the photo mode camera, added drone settings, and expanded character creation options.
