Palworld’s Major Update: New Features Including Fishing, Salvaging, and Pal Trust System

Palworld has released a significant update, version 0.6.0, which introduces a collaboration with the popular sandbox game Terraria. This update brings a unique Terraria dungeon filled with enemies and materials to craft Terraria-themed equipment. The Moon Lord, a notorious boss from Terraria, now appears as a raid boss in Palworld, challenging players to team up and defeat it.

Beyond the Terraria content, the update adds numerous new features such as dedicated PlayStation 5 servers, a fishing mechanic where players can craft rods and bait to catch new Pals, and a salvage system that allows players to collect resources from the ocean floor while riding water Pals. Three new island types have been introduced: Tropical Islands, Iceberg Island, and Shipwreck Island, each home to unique Pals.

The update also includes a mission system with special missions like Zoe’s, which lets players earn her trust and recruit her as an ally. The Pal trust mechanic enhances stats based on the time spent with Pals, allowing even weaker Pals to become valuable companions. Players can now sleep alongside their Pals, use treasure maps to find hidden loot, and raid enemy bases to obtain new building blueprints.

Settlements have been expanded and feel more alive, with many mission NPCs to interact with. The player level cap has been raised from 60 to 65. New buildings such as the Pal Surgery Table, Fishing Pond, Hexolite Quartz Mine, Large Incubator, and Palbox Control Device have been added, along with new building materials and a turbulence mechanic that lets players jump high using air currents.

Several new weapons and items have been introduced, including support weapons for tamers and new food recipes. The arena mode now features a single-player challenge, customizable rules, a public Pal Box, and spectator functions for multiplayer.

Mechanic and balance adjustments improve gameplay, including equipment durability settings, enhanced Pal abilities, and adjusted enemy behaviors. New skins celebrate the game’s anniversary, and Pals can now swim and use new water, grass, ice, and unique skills.

The user interface has been improved with features like easy bulk storage and quick Pal preset selection. Multiplayer fixes and world enhancements such as more random dungeon patterns and fishing spots have also been implemented. Several new achievements and numerous bug fixes round out this comprehensive update.

Despite ongoing legal challenges from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company regarding patent issues, Palworld continues to thrive, breaking sales records and expanding its IP through new partnerships and platform releases.
