The new anime adaptation of “Fist of the North Star” titled “Hokuto no Ken -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR-” has unveiled its first visual and is confirmed to premiere in 2026.
Originally a manga series by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara, “Fist of the North Star” was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988, spanning 27 volumes. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future where Kenshiro, the successor of the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken, marked by the seven scars on his chest resembling the Big Dipper, becomes a savior for humanity. The franchise has been adapted into TV anime, games, and live-action films.
The new anime was announced in 2023 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original manga. The production promises a fresh approach with new staff and voice actors, utilizing the latest technology to faithfully capture the essence and appeal of the original work.
