Diablo Immortal is set to introduce a new class on July 3, reimagining the classic Druid archetype from the series with a fresh and primal twist. Unlike the Druids familiar from Diablo II or Diablo IV, the Druid in Diablo Immortal hails from the Sharval Wilds, a more isolated and wild faction that channels the chaotic energy of Mother Nature.
This new Druid class emphasizes dynamic shape-shifting, allowing players to switch between forms such as a werewolf bear charging into battle, a newly introduced stag form for repositioning and crowd control, and a flock of diving crows. The design aims to feel more chaotic and diverse than traditional predator forms.
Inspired by real-world wildfires and earthquakes, the Druid wields elemental fire and earth magic that can sometimes spiral out of control, affecting the environment around them. This adds a layer of unpredictability and raw power to the gameplay.
The development team at Blizzard sought to balance familiarity with innovation. Classic elements like elemental spellcasting, shapeshifting, and animal companions remain, but with new twists such as the Oak Sage skill returning as a friendly forest spirit that boosts player stats and attacks enemies, rather than a passive aura.
Players can choose to focus on a single form or play dynamically by switching shapes to maximize damage and utility. The Druid’s gameplay encourages active engagement and flexibility.
This addition is part of Diablo Immortal’s 2025 roadmap, “Epoch of Madness,” which continues to explore the power vacuum left after Diablo’s defeat. Alongside this, Diablo IV is also evolving with updates to endgame content and seasonal changes.
