Sail and Strategy: The Upcoming Release of “Sea Conquest”

The indie game “Sea Conquest,” developed by the French solo creator 1LastGame and published in China by indienova, is set to launch on Steam on July 14, 2025.

Set in a world where steampunk technology and magic coexist on the seas, players take command of their ship, outfitting it with cannons and mystical artifacts, and lead a diverse crew from various races. The ultimate mission is to cross vast oceans, confront massive enemy vessels, and save the world from dark forces.

“Sea Conquest” blends nautical simulation, strategic decision-making, and roguelike elements. Inspired by the gameplay of “FTL: Faster Than Light,” the developer has introduced unique features tailored to the maritime theme. Players assume the role of a captain, managing resources, recruiting crew members, and facing enemy encounters. Every decision impacts the success or failure of the voyage.

Key gameplay features include:

  • Meaningful nautical choices: Explore ten distinct sea regions filled with opportunities and dangers, balancing risk and reward while choosing routes, allies, and foes.
  • Dynamic combat system: Experiment with various crew and ship configurations, employing tactics such as long-range cannon fire, boarding actions, magic summoning, and setting enemy ships ablaze.
  • Real-time ship management: Direct crew tasks in real-time, upgrade weapons and equipment, and install unique runes to customize your warship.
  • Forge your own path: Decide whether to be a hero protecting the weak or a ruthless pirate plundering the seas.

The game is designed to be accessible, with all controls operable via mouse and keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Additionally, it includes special visual aids for colorblind players, ensuring all color-coded information is supplemented with extra visual cues.

Alongside the release date announcement, a new trailer showcasing the main gameplay, combat scenes, and diverse sea environments including foggy waters has been revealed. A demo version is currently available on the store page, inviting players to try it out or add it to their wishlist to support the development team.
