Ubisoft recently released a new video announcing extensive post-launch plans for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, scheduled to be revealed on April 30. The game, developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, has been out for nearly a month and has received high praise from major media outlets such as GameSpot, IGN, and PC Gamer.
A Twitter user, @KuroNoYaiba97, showcased a 1:1 scale replica of the protagonist Naoya’s hidden blade. Another popular Twitter game blogger, @TheRealZephryss, shared a live demonstration of the “Sakura Fox Mount,” featuring a fluffy three-tailed fox with pink glowing effects, combining both cuteness and style.
The Guinness World Record holder for the oldest gaming blogger, a well-known Bilibili content creator @BoneLevelGamer_Yang, highly praised the game, calling it “extremely fun” and naming it the “monthly best without equal.” YouTube content creator ElAnalistaDeBits uploaded a detailed video comparing the graphics of Assassin’s Creed Mirage with Ghost of Tsushima, highlighting the visual fidelity.
However, some players have reported bizarre bugs, such as decapitated enemies standing up to continue fighting, which has sparked humorous criticism about Ubisoft’s tradition of launching games with bugs. Another YouTube creator, Backseat Guides, shared a scene featuring characters Mitsusuke and Hori Hidemasa.
Ubisoft’s creative director Jonathan Dumont explained in an interview why the game does not allow players to harm animals, emphasizing the design choice behind this feature.
Financially, Ubisoft’s 2024-2025 fiscal year report showed a decline in overall revenue, but Assassin’s Creed Mirage broke Ubisoft’s record for the highest first-day sales on the PSN platform and achieved the second-highest launch revenue in the series, only behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Ubisoft also announced a delay in releasing some major IPs and games to improve quality, a decision influenced by the positive reception of Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s delayed launch.
Technical media DSOGaming praised the game as one of the most visually stunning on PC, noting that pre-baked ray tracing lighting took two years to complete. SteamDB data indicates that the game currently has a peak of 5,131 concurrent players within 24 hours, with 3,263 players online at the time of reporting, slightly fewer than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft’s technical director Pierre Fortin expressed satisfaction with the PS5 Pro version, claiming it offers an unparalleled console experience comparable to high-end PCs.
Early concept art shared by @Zephryss on Twitter revealed multiple mask designs for the female protagonist Naoya, adding to the game’s rich visual storytelling.
Overall, Assassin’s Creed Mirage continues to captivate players with its engaging gameplay, stunning visuals, and ongoing post-launch content plans.
