Pearl Abyss Explores Potential Sale of CCP Games, Developer of EVE Online

According to Insider Gaming, rumors surfaced earlier this week that Pearl Abyss, the parent company of CCP Games—the developer behind the renowned sci-fi MMORPG EVE Online—is considering selling CCP Games. Pearl Abyss has reportedly been in talks with multiple companies to gauge their interest in acquiring CCP Games.

When contacted for clarification, Pearl Abyss did not outright deny the possibility of selling CCP Games but stated that no final decision has been made and no official announcements are available at this time.

EVE Online’s international version was originally released in 2003, with the Chinese server launching in 2006. Pearl Abyss acquired CCP Games in 2018 for $425 million. Since the acquisition, CCP Games has continued to provide updates and support for EVE Online while also working on other titles within the EVE IP, such as EVE Vanguard.
