Since the release of Elden Ring Nightreign on May 30, players have spent about three weeks mastering the various tools and abilities available in Limveld. However, some players have started to use these skills in quite fascinating ways.
One of the most popular posts this morning on the r/Nightreign subreddit came from user u/Quantam-Law, who plays as a Raider character named “BRO….” BRO had a clever idea: instead of directly assaulting the city gates with the three Nightfarers’ Noklateo Shifting Earth event, he used the Raider’s ultimate skill to create a new platform as an entry path.
Noklateo and other Shifting Earth events are random map changes that introduce new encounters and areas to explore. While using Totem Stela for such maneuvers is helpful, it also inspired players to think about how to use this large block to bypass designed obstacles and reach other parts of the map.
Raider is not the only skilled player. User u/Mockz_ recently shared a jumping technique on the Elden Ring Nightreign subreddit, targeting the Crater Shifting Earth event. In this move, Mockz cleverly combined his skills with gravity to reach the bottom of the Crater.
Another user, u/ninjabladeJr, posted a feasible but challenging and risky jump technique using the Ghost Hawk and specific positioning to reach the bottom of the Crater. Are these Crater jumps dangerous? Absolutely. But seeing someone skip many dungeon encounters and reach the big boss—the ultimate goal and reward of the Shifting Earth event—is truly exciting.
Some players have even used Skyrim-like jumping techniques, climbing cliffs like a mountain goat to reach the top of the Mountaintop event. Shifting Earth events are an interesting and engaging part of Nightreign’s map design, and players are already exploring faster and smarter ways to complete the game, which is impressive.
The practical usability of these techniques remains uncertain. I can imagine using Noklateo totem jumps in random teams, but attempting the Ghost Hawk Crater jump in a room with two players unfamiliar with the move could likely result in two or even three Nightfarers dying.
Nevertheless, the creativity players show in utilizing skills and discovering fun uses is very beneficial for Elden Ring Nightreign’s long-term development. So far, the Elden Ring Nightreign speedrun leaderboard has not launched, but these community-discovered jumps have me excited about what speedrunners will showcase.
