Electronic Arts announced on June 21, 2025, that the popular multiplayer battle game Apex Legends will receive a major update on June 24. The update will introduce a large-scale futuristic idol event running from June 25 to July 16, promising exciting new content for players to enjoy.
The futuristic idol event will feature limited-time rewards including decorative items, a new gameplay mode called “Arena: Duel,” and various bug fixes and balance adjustments to some heroes.
Apex Legends introduced a new hero named Spyro on May 6, who specializes in sniping. The game has faced controversies such as EA forcing French voice actors to allow AI to use their voices, which was met with unanimous refusal. EA is also planning a significant update called Apex 2.0, aiming to bring bigger and more meaningful changes.
Despite its popularity, the game experienced a dip in daily active users during the Christmas period, dropping below 40,000 due to a lack of new content. There are also rumors about a new monthly subscription service hinted at by EA through a recent survey.
Season 23 of Apex Legends has been announced, bringing back original maps and skills.
