Sony has teamed up with Blackpink’s Lisa, who is also an actor, to promote the PlayStation 5. In a new promotional video featuring her own song “Lifestyle,” Lisa is seen holding a PS5 controller while clips from popular Sony games such as Helldivers II, Marathon, and Astro Bot play on screen.
This collaboration is a significant move for Sony, given Lisa and Blackpink’s immense popularity. Lisa recently made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus, portraying the character Mook.
Lisa joins a list of celebrities who have partnered with Sony to promote the PlayStation brand. Previously, Sony worked with basketball legend LeBron James on a range of accessories designed by him as part of the PlayStation Playmakers program. This initiative involves collaborations with various famous personalities.
Other notable Playmakers include actor and comedian King Bach, BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester, WNBA star NaLyssa Smith, NFL players Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb, and soccer stars Lisa Zimouche and Romelu Lukaku.
Sony’s Eric Lempel expressed excitement about these ongoing partnerships, highlighting the Playmakers as a dynamic talent network aimed at inspiring gaming fans and showcasing the power of play.
The PS5 has been a major success for Sony, with nearly 80 million units sold, matching the PS4’s performance despite initial launch challenges caused by COVID-19 and supply chain issues. While the PS6 is on the horizon, details about the new system remain scarce.
Sony’s latest major PS5 exclusive is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach by Hideo Kojima, which is currently available. Upcoming exclusives include Ghost of Yotei, releasing in October, and Saros, expected in 2026.
