Surge in Players Before Resident Evil Re:Verse Official Shutdown

Resident Evil Reverse Servers Permanently Shut Down After Serving Original Purpose

On March 31, 2021, Capcom officially closed the servers for Resident Evil Reverse, the online multiplayer component of Resident Evil Resistance. The shutdown affects all platforms worldwide, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Capcom stated that the servers have fulfilled their intended purpose of supporting the game’s online features since its launch in 2020.

The closure means players can no longer access online matchmaking, leaderboards, or any server-dependent content within Resident Evil Resistance. However, the core single-player experience of Resident Evil 3 Remake remains unaffected. Capcom encourages players to continue enjoying the offline modes and thanks the community for their support.

This move aligns with industry trends where online services for niche multiplayer modes are discontinued once player activity declines. Capcom’s official announcement was posted on their website and social media channels, confirming the permanent server shutdown and providing guidance for affected players.
