The highly anticipated domestic mecha combat game “Unbound Mech” has officially opened for pre-download! Players can now prepare for the global open beta starting July 2 by downloading the game from the official website and Steam platform.
Recently, the developers at Xinhuo Heavy Industries revealed a new melee mech called “Feijing” that will be available in the open beta. This agile close-combat unit is equipped with advanced optical camouflage technology, allowing it to stealthily infiltrate enemy lines and swiftly eliminate key targets.
The official “Unbound Mech” team hosted a preview livestream showcasing the 6v6 Edge Battlefield mode, featuring 10 distinct combat maps. Among these maps is the “Rain Sea Shield,” a unique space-based battlefield with reduced gravity, ideal for high-mobility mechs.
Additionally, a new light attack mech named “Spear Falcon” was introduced. Known for its exceptional agility, the Spear Falcon is outfitted with reconnaissance equipment and both light and heavy missile types, enabling it to quickly close in on fragile enemy damage dealers and deliver devastating strikes.
At the 2025 Summer Game Festival, the game’s producer, West Mountain Studio, officially announced the global open beta launch date and released a fresh trailer, generating excitement among fans worldwide.
NVIDIA also showcased a comparison video demonstrating the performance difference with DLSS3 enabled and disabled in “Unbound Mech,” highlighting the game’s cutting-edge graphics technology.
The game has received high praise from international media such as Eurogamer, which hailed “Unbound Mech” as a masterful blend of mech and high-speed action gameplay, ranking it among the most anticipated titles.
In addition to gameplay content, the developers revealed plans for an animated series adaptation. A new animation short featuring the golden Spear Falcon pilot, the blonde-haired warrior Leonie Phil, was released to further immerse fans in the game’s universe.
The CEO of West Mountain Studio shared insights about the game’s development, noting the challenges faced during the initial closed beta in February, which received mixed feedback. Despite this, the strong player engagement demonstrated the community’s keen interest.

According to an interview with the game’s lead creator Kris Kwok, “Unbound Mech” will launch with 13 playable mechs, with 6 more completed and 3 in development. The update schedule is planned to introduce approximately three new mechs each season, ensuring ongoing content and excitement.
