The Chinese suspense narrative game “Her Diary,” developed by Hucang Studio and Pone Games and published by Independent Ark, has officially launched on the Steam platform. The game is priced at 54 RMB with a 10% discount for the first fourteen days, making it 48.6 RMB during the launch period.
“Her Diary” centers around suspenseful storytelling, where players read four distinct diaries, uncover puzzles, extract key clues, and piece together the truth behind the events.
The game first caught players’ attention with its trailer released on May 20, 2023, featuring a tight pace and a strong suspense atmosphere. It quickly reached its crowdfunding goal on the Modian platform in August 2023.
After two years of development and overcoming various challenges, the team finalized the project. Players will explore the mystery of “Xiao Ke’s” disappearance and kidnapping through the four diaries, revealing a long-buried story.
The second diary evolves from a life journal to a clue-focused narrative, the third introduces new mysteries, and the fourth connects scattered information, taking the timeline back to earlier events to uncover the story’s origins.
Unlike traditional linear narrative games, “Her Diary” uses multiple perspectives and non-linear timelines. Players must sift through fragmented, subjective diary entries to reconstruct the full story.
The game intentionally challenges players’ assumptions about the timing, motives, and identity of the diary writers, with clues hidden in seemingly scattered but interconnected pages.
