Since the establishment of GCORES, we have continuously updated and optimized the website and app functionalities, with the submission feature being a key focus. The current submission system offers a variety of content formats for contributors to choose from.
This article serves as a detailed guide for those unfamiliar with the submission process.
Currently, the GCORES app supports posting group updates, while the web version allows submissions of “Articles,” “Videos,” and “Updates.”
On the web version, the “Submit” button is located at the top right corner. Hovering over it reveals a menu where you can select the appropriate content type:
- News: A quick and concise submission method suitable for news and brief updates.
- Articles: A formal submission format ideal for medium to long pieces or content with multiple images.
- Updates: For posting quick thoughts or feelings, often linked to specific topics.
- Management: Allows you to view and manage all your published articles and updates.
In the app, you can access the “Group” or “My” section and use the floating “Post” button to create group updates.
Post-upgrade, the submission process and standards have evolved, especially for articles, videos, and updates:
Articles are a vital part of the GCORES community content, with specific requirements to ensure quality:
- Minimum 1000 characters or at least 10 images.
- Single image size must not exceed 8MB.
The article editor supports various features:
- Mandatory fields: “Title” and “Summary.” Titles should be concise and clear to attract attention. Additional details can be placed in the summary.
- A “Cover Image” is required, with different aspect ratios affecting layout. If none is set, the cover photo will be used instead.
Text Editing includes:
- Heading formats
- Quote formats
- Unordered and ordered lists
- Bold and italic styles
- Hyperlinks
- Spoiler tags
- Paragraph formatting
Adding Auxiliary Content:
Pressing Enter to start a new line reveals a “+” icon for adding:
- Images
- Embedded code
- Galleries
- Portfolios
Image Insertion:
Single images can be added via the “Add Image” button, which opens the file selector.
Gallery Addition:
Allows uploading up to 9 images with sorting and captions, plus uniform size settings.
Image Format Editing:
Hovering over images reveals options to add captions, format, spoiler tags, or delete.
Embedding Audio/Video:
Supports embedding via iframe codes from platforms like Bilibili, NetEase Cloud Music, and Steam.
Widgets:
Widgets highlight specific content such as portfolios, other articles, or product links by filling in title, description, URL, and image.
Clicking “Next” in the editor leads to the “Publish Settings” page to finalize submission.
Cover Image:
The cover image is crucial for attracting readers and should ideally be 1080×506 pixels with 75px bleed on top and bottom for homepage display.
Channel Categories:
Categories help classify content, e.g., “Recommendations,” “Knowledge Sharing,” and “Visual Media.”
Tag System:
Besides default tags, personalized tags can be added for better content discovery.
Scheduled Publishing:
Articles can be scheduled for future publication.
Original Content Feature:
Marking content as original helps it appear in the “Original Works” section and allows control over reprint permissions.
Portfolios help organize original works on personal pages and can be embedded in articles.
News submissions follow a similar process but omit the cover image requirement for faster posting.
Video submissions support local uploads with duration specified in seconds.
Updates are a new content form linked to specific topics, limited to 2000 characters and up to 9 images (static or animated), each under 8MB.
Both web and app support update editing.
Adding Related Content:
You can link existing games, podcasts, videos, articles, playlists/audiobooks, or products from the GCORES content library.
Linked updates appear on the related game pages, increasing visibility.
Work Settings:
Similar to articles, updates can be marked as original and added to portfolios, with options to prohibit reprints.
Official Posts:
Game developers linked to their games can post as official accounts, with distinct display styles.
Topic selection allows categorizing updates for better reach.
Article and video submissions undergo automated third-party review, with no manual checks unless necessary. The review is based on platform policies and user agreements.
Approved content appears in personal pages, follower feeds, and the latest group streams.
Manual review by the content team ensures quality and interaction with creators, promoting a healthy creative environment.
Outstanding content is recommended on the homepage and app for greater exposure.
Continuous optimization of recommendation and display mechanisms aims to improve the publishing environment.
Rejected submissions include feedback for revision, with appeal options available.
