NetEase Games has unveiled “Blood Message,” its first AAA single-player game developed by 24 Entertainment, the studio behind Naraka: Bladepoint. Set during the late Tang Dynasty, the game follows an unnamed messenger and his young son on a perilous journey across treacherous terrain to the heart of the Tang Empire, Chang’an.
Players will experience a cinematic narrative combined with stealth and survival combat mechanics, all set against vast landscapes inspired by East and Central Asia. The core theme explores how ordinary people become unsung heroes in history, focusing on the father-son duo struggling between duty and family in a collapsing world.
NetEase’s Executive Vice President Hu Zhipeng stated, “With Blood Message, we are leading players into a new generation of high-adventure experiences. As our first game fully dedicated to single-player gameplay, after two decades of development, we are ready to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience to players worldwide.”
Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and enhanced with proprietary technologies, Blood Message promises a deeply immersive experience. Although no release date has been announced, the game will launch on PC and consoles. It is among several upcoming titles inspired by Chinese history and folklore, including Project: The Perceiver, Where Winds Meet, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Phantom Blade Zero.
