Italian indie developer CaracalGames, in partnership with French publisher DearVillagers, has officially released the fast-paced open-world action game Star Overdrive on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms.
In Star Overdrive, players find themselves immersed in an alien open world where they must respond to a distress signal and embark on a mission to save a loved one. Armed with a high-speed hoverboard, physics-based special abilities, and a powerful keyboard guitar, players will navigate through intense challenges and confront formidable enemies standing in their way.
Following a successful debut on the Nintendo Switch in April 2025, the development team has continued refining the game experience. The multi-platform launch includes a comprehensive update that incorporates community feedback, featuring improved controls and new gameplay mechanics to enhance player engagement.
To celebrate the PC release, a 20% launch discount is available. Beyond the standard edition, a digital deluxe version is offered, which includes three unique hoverboard styles, one special design, and 50 different dyes. Additionally, the deluxe edition comes with the digital soundtrack and a digital comic created by the CaracalGames team, providing a prequel narrative that expands on the game’s main storyline.
