NetEase’s “Return to Tang” Clarifies: Pure Buy-to-Play Single-Player Game, Not Mobile

NetEase’s “Return to Tang” Issues Official Statement: This Game is a Purely Buy-to-Play Single-Player Experience, Not a Mobile Game

The promotional PV for “Return to Tang,” a single-player action-adventure game developed by NetEase’s Lin’an 24 Studio, was officially released today. The developers reiterated that the game is a purely buy-to-play single-player title, set to launch on PC and console platforms, and is not a mobile game.

The official team acknowledged that after the trailer’s release, some players expressed doubts about the purity of the single-player experience given the involvement of Thunderfire, a company known for online games. They understand the community’s mistrust towards Thunderfire, but emphasized that Thunderfire has been established for 18 years and is actively seeking change.

The developers hope that “Return to Tang” will help mend the trust gap between players and Thunderfire, firmly stating, “If we say it’s a single-player game, it absolutely cannot be a mobile game.” They also encourage players to take screenshots as proof of this commitment.
