NVIDIA to Launch China-Specific RTX 5090DD with Reduced Specs

NVIDIA is reportedly preparing to release a China-exclusive version of the RTX 5090 graphics card, named the RTX 5090DD. This new model is a further downgraded variant of the already scaled-down RTX 5090D.

The RTX 5090DD will feature the GB202240 chip, compared to the GB202250 chip in the RTX 5090D and the GB202300 chip in the standard RTX 5090. It will also come with a newly designed PCB, designated as PG145SKU40.

Significant changes have been made to the memory configuration: the memory bus width is reduced from 512-bit to 384-bit, and the memory capacity drops from 32GB to 24GB. The GPU compute units remain the same as the RTX 5090D, with 21,760 CUDA cores, 170 RT cores, and 680 Tensor cores.

However, the AI computing performance is expected to decline, with AI operations dropping to 2375 AITOPS. The power consumption of the RTX 5090DD is also anticipated to be noticeably lower due to the reduced specifications.

While the gaming performance of the RTX 5090D remains largely unaffected, the RTX 5090DD is expected to see a decrease in gaming capabilities. NVIDIA may also adopt a different pricing strategy for this model compared to the RTX 5090D.
