Dying Light 2 Stay Human: The Beast Announced for August 22, 2025, as a Major AAA Expansion

Techland has officially announced the release date for “Dying Light: The Beast,” a standalone AAA expansion to the acclaimed “Dying Light” franchise. The game is set to launch worldwide on August 22, 2025, across PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Originally planned as DLC for “Dying Light 2: Stay Human,” “The Beast” has evolved into a full-fledged AAA title, offering an expansive survival horror experience. The story follows Kyle Crane, the original protagonist, who escapes after thirteen years of brutal experiments, gaining terrifying new powers that blend human and zombie DNA.

Set in the eerie Castor Woods valley, players will explore diverse biomes, engage in parkour, melee combat, and use an arsenal of weapons to survive. The game features a day-night cycle, cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, and vehicle traversal.

Pre-orders are open at $59.99/£49.99, with early buyers receiving exclusive in-game items. Notably, owners of the “Dying Light 2: Stay Human” Ultimate Edition will receive “The Beast” for free.

The game also supports Chinese voiceover and localization, catering to a global audience.
